What if they told you all hope was gone, but hope was reborn...

In 1965, a national hero, Air Wing Commander Peter Mongilardi, was shot down over Vietnam. Forty-one years later, through the tireless efforts of cutting edge forensic science and the determined efforts of his family, he came home...

The Burning Blue project, in association with A-List talent, is conceived as a feature film written by Raoul Mongilardi and Xaque Gruber, and shares the true story of the Mongilardi family with the public.  It is also being conceived as a documentary.  The groundbreaking case of Commander Mongilardi will help solve other military forensic cases dating to World War II.

Journey with us from the heyday of military aviation to the tumultuous 60’s, into the jungles of Vietnam, through the dark days that followed, to today’s revolutionary world of forensic science and the inspiring story of one of the most venerated, highly decorated pilots in history.
